This is an opportunity for athletes to elect representatives to advocate on their behalf within the IDBF.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Key Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligibility: Candidates must meet the criteria outlined in the IDBF <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragonboat.sport\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/190726-IDBF-Athletes-Commission-Election-Procedure.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Athlete\u2019s Commission Election Procedure<\/a>, including being Active Premier Athletes as defined in the regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Nomination Process: Each Member Country may nominate one eligible candidate. Nominations will close three months before the Championships.<\/li>\n<li>Election Period: Voting will begin three days before the first day of racing and conclude one hour after the final race.<\/li>\n<li>Voting Eligibility: All athletes with an Athlete\u2019s Accreditation at the event may vote. Proxy voting is not allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This election is conducted under IDBF Bye-Law 5.3, as detailed on page 29 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dragonboat.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IDBF-Statutes-and-Bye-laws-Edn10-2-English.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IDBF Bye-Laws (Edition 10.2)<\/a> and the attached <a href=\"https:\/\/dragonboat.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/190726-IDBF-Athletes-Commission-Regulations-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Athlete\u2019s Commission Regulation<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/dragonboat.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/190726-IDBF-Athletes-Commission-Election-Procedure.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Election Procedure<\/a> (dated 26th July 2019).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Election Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Election Committee overseeing the process is comprised of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Claudio Schermi \u2013 IDBF President<\/li>\n<li>Peter Tang \u2013 IDBF Secretary General<\/li>\n<li>Sue Holloway \u2013 Chair of the Athlete\u2019s Commission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For further details on eligibility, the nomination process, or election guidelines, please refer to the IDBF <a href=\"https:\/\/dragonboat.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/190726-IDBF-Athletes-Commission-Election-Procedure.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Athlete\u2019s Commission Election Procedure<\/a> or contact the Election Committee via <a href=\"mailto:general-secretary@dragonboat.sport\">general-secretary@dragonboat.sport<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage all eligible athletes to participate actively in this important process and help shape the future of dragon boat racing.<\/p>\n<p>Sincerely,<\/p>\n<p>Peter Tang<br \/>\nIDBF Secretary General<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>About the IDBF<br \/>\n<\/strong>The International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) is the global governing body for dragon boat racing.
