{"id":2616,"date":"2022-09-16T03:09:06","date_gmt":"2022-09-16T03:09:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dragonboat.sport\/?p=2616"},"modified":"2023-04-09T03:12:34","modified_gmt":"2023-04-09T03:12:34","slug":"16th-world-dragon-boat-racing-championships-to-be-held-in-pattaya-thailand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dragonboat.sport\/news\/16th-world-dragon-boat-racing-championships-to-be-held-in-pattaya-thailand\/","title":{"rendered":"16th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships to be held in Pattaya, Thailand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NEWS RELEASE (#2022-02)<\/strong> | 16 September 2022<\/p>\n<p>The 16th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships (WDBRC) will now be held in Pattaya, Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>A majority decision was made to move the location from Hong Kong to Thailand with the main concern from member countries being the quarantine restrictions surrounding the event and impact on the athletes.<\/p>\n<p>Votes were cast country members on this difficult decision at the IDBF Extra Ordinary Congress (held online), which recently concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The IDBF would like to wholeheartedly thank the HKCDBA and the Hong Kong Organising Committee for their hard work, dedication, and commitment in the preparation of the Championships.
